VI: 30

Chapter 6, Verse 30

"When they see me in all
And when they see all in me
Then I never leave them
And they never leave me."

Father Bede Griffiths:

What we are discovering is that Brahm [Supreme Soul], Atman [Atomic Soul] and Purushottam [Supreme Person] are all ultimately identical, just as Father, Son and Holy Spirit are essentially one and the same.  The One Reality is experienced in different ways.

When the One Reality is experienced in the whole of creation as the Divine Ground behind the fluid change of sense perceptions, we call that Reality Brahm.

When the One Reality is experienced in our own depths as the root of our being, we call that Reality Atman.

When the One Reality is experienced as an object of worship, as Krishna the Lord, then we know him as the Cosmic Person, the Purushottam, in the relationship of Love.  The Person of God is revealed as the Heart of the Universe.

This is the Gospel message as well.  Jesus is the personal aspect of God, the Person in whom the Universe finds its ultimate meaning and who reveals himself as Love.

Neil Alexander:

God is a relationship.  That is the fundamental truth at the heart of the doctrine of the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.  Three-in-One models for us the relational interdependence of a holy life.  It is the very nature of God to be in relationship.  Made in God's image, we too are designed to be in relationship with God and with one another.  This is the deep longing in every heart.  It is in our DNA.  To try to live otherwise is unnatural and brings pain.

Sri Aurobindo:

Is it not safer to sit in solitude seeing the world in Brahm, in the Divine, but not moving in it, not living in it and not acting in it, but living rather in the inner Samadhi?  Should not that be the law, the rule and the Dharma of the highest spiritual condition?  No, for liberated Yogis there is no other law, rule, nor Dharma than this: to live in the Divine and love the Divine and be one with all beings.

The resulting freedom is not a contingent freedom and not dependent upon any rule of conduct, law of life or limitation of any kind.  There is no longer any need of a process of Yoga, because they are now perpetually in Yoga, no matter what the external conditions are like.

Paramahansa Yogananda:

The True Lover is God.  You are his Beloved.  After many prodigal wanderings, you meet the Cosmic Lover in the bower of Eternity.
