Chapter 3, Verse 31
"Those who follow my teaching
And who have faith
And a strong will
Find their freedom
Through skillful work."
Swami Chidbhavananda:
"Wanderers who are unable to find out by themselves the intricate path to their destination place faith in those who have gone that way and follow their instructions. By this means they are sure to find their way. Earnestly digesting the understandable portions of the Gita and trusting that the abstruse portions will soon become lucid is placing faith (Shraddha) in this great teaching."
Swami Shivananda:
"Shraddha is a mental attitude. It consists of an infallible trust in the Self, in the scriptures, and in the teachings of the spiritual preceptor. It comprises a combination of the higher emotions of reverence and humility."
Daniel Clark:
"Even though Srila Prabhupada was strict, he also gave a little elbow room. So he often said, for those who aren't strict, you will succeed as long as you don't resent the principles and work at them sincerely with confidence of eventual success. He always ended his letters to his disciples with 'Your ever well wisher,' above his name."
