III: 25

Chapter 3, Verse 25

"Though the unwise cling to their actions,
Watching out for results,
The wise are free from attachments,
Acting unselfishly
For the good of all the world."

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi:

"Since the ignorant are attached to the fruits of their actions, the actions make a deep impression upon them and sow the seeds of future Karma. The liberated ones are free from the bondage of their actions, the impressions of the fruits having washed over them like water off a duck's back through their lack of identification with them. As a consequence, their spirit of selflessness spreads out into the world and everything and everyone benefits. Their actions are responses to the needs of the moment. They fulfill the needs of their surroundings. The wise are tools in the hands of the divine."
