Chapter 2, Verse 10
Krishna is smiling.
Between the two armies
The voice of God
Speaks these words to Arjuna:
Srila Prabhupada:
"The talk between master and disciple is openly exchanged in the presence of both armies so that all are benefited. The talks of the Bhagavad Gita are not for any particular person, society, or community, but they are for all, as all are equally entitled to hear them."
Swami Chidbhavananda:
"Significant is the smile on the lips of the Lord. As the dawn is the harbinger of sunrise, the Lord's smile foreshadows the Yoga that Arjuna is about to absorb. What Krishna is about to transmit is the elemental remedy for all the suffering of mundane existence."
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi:
"Disheartened students become encouraged by the sign of the master's smile, which shows them without a word that their problems are neither so serious as they think nor so difficult as to be insurmountable."
